CUT FLOWER CROP

At Dancing Moon Farm flowers are a passion. We have four and a half acres of quality, organically grown flowers for sale to florists, event planners, national wholesalers, and the general public. Our taste runs a little "wild." We have many non-traditional flowers and woodies as well as high-end fillers for bouquets. In accordance with our values, our flowers are grown using organic as well as biodynamic methods. Please contact us with your needs: 541-490-5155 / Nicholas@dancingmoonfarm.com.

We are USDA certified organic.
We are a member of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers.

Weddings
The Natural Look: Farm-direct flowers for weddings and special occasions

Farm-direct
Call or email us with the date and location of your wedding and we can send you a list—with pictures—of what flowers we think will be available that week. As your wedding approaches, we encourage you to visit the farm, look over what's available and make your final decisions. You can pick up your freshly harvested, bunched flowers ready to go a couple of days before the wedding, or in the case of some local weddings, we can deliver.

Design
We do not have a floral designer at our farm and do not provide those services. We do love to talk about our flowers and can give suggestions for possible arrangements. If you have a need for more sophisticated floral design, we can suggest an experienced florist in our area or Portland to work with. These florists are accustomed to working with our flowers.

Organic
At Dancing Moon Farm, we strive to be environmentally sensitive and sustainable which is why we grow using organic and biodynamic methods. We believe vibrant, high quality flowers are grown in healthy soil. Our flowers, like our vegetables, are seasonal, with every month bringing a new swath of color, shape and variety. Our flowers will provide your wedding with a natural look, complimenting the inherent beauty of the season and your surroundings.

Local
There are many beautiful settings for a wedding in the Columbia Gorge Area. We are located on the Westside of Hood River, fifteen minutes from downtown and can work with many area wedding sites. Our flowers work especially well with outdoor or relaxed-setting weddings; we do not grow a lot of traditionally formal flowers. Buying local flowers for your Gorge wedding gives your guests a flavor for our area and has a lesser environmental impact than shipping flowers from another state or country. We can serve Portland area weddings as well, we make regular flower deliveries to Portland.

Markets

Look for our flower booth at the Portland Farmer's Market Ecotrust Market (www.portlandfarmersmarket.org) - Thursdays, June 5 - September 25, 3:30pm - 7:30pm in the Pearl District, NW 10th between Irving & Johnson from 3:30-7:30. Buy a freshly-harvested bouquet, or build your own arrangement. Also come by and talk with us about providing flowers for your wedding or other special occasion.

Wholesalers & Shipping

During the harvest season, we provide a weekly email with our list of available flowers and can ship nation wide. In general, we have 2-6 products weekly that we can ship in box quantities. We can also assemble mixed boxes. We have set delivery days into Portland and the airport. We are a known shipper on Alaska, Delta, United, Southwest and Continental. We ship FOB in a 42"x20x6" box. We can ship UPS/FedEx any day.

Florists

We are happy to form and maintain relationships directly with florists. Currently we run a route in Portland on Tuesdays and Thursdays in our refrigerated Sprinter van. We send out an e-mail Sunday evening or Monday with our availability and price list for the week often along with some pictures. Florists are encouraged to pre-order to insure you get the amount of bunches you desire. Primarily the e-mail is to keep you apprised of our production and to help formulate your buying plan for the week.

We harvest flowers Monday for Tuesday delivery and Wednesday for Thursday delivery, guaranteeing you fresh, high-quality product. We are committed to maintaining the cold chain. We have a cooler onsite, and a refrigerated Sprinter delivery van. Our flowers are properly conditioned and then held between 34-38 degrees until the moment that they arrive to you.

More and more Oregonians are interested in organic products, sustainable practices and local production. We are proud to be on the cutting edge of this trend as one of the few certified organic by Oregon Tilth flower farms in the area. In addition, we apply many other sustainable practices including biodiesel in all of our vehicles, drip irrigation to conserve water and a preservation and restoration of wildlife habit around our property.
